This was instituted as part of a plan to arrange a trip to Jackson Hole for staff from West Derby Comprehensive School, Liverpool, and their skiing acquaintances. The club's motto is "Skiere Vivimus" (pseudo Latin for "we live to ski"), which is a pun on the school motto.
The club is rather exclusive, membership being offered only after extensive interviews and the buying of many rounds.
The photo gallery opposite contains pictures of some of the members, the famous "Splint" Milroy being shown resting his wounded but well-padded posterior on a well-padded saddle in the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson.
