Good Travel Guide (Recommendations)
Here are some accolades for Tour Companies who have provided me with excellent service/value for money over the past few years:
Thomson - for a fantastically cheap week to Andorra in a good aparthotel (St Andreu in Arinsal).
Silverski - fantastic value in Chalet Roger (Courchevel 1300), with good food, attentive ski-guiding and a very slick all-round operation. Fantastic food and attentive service from Luke, Ty and Louise at Plagne 1800.
Ski Independence - not cheap but offering a superb service to Canada/USA.
Total Ski - for a great early season trip to Chalet Cascades in Courchevel 1650. Good, plentiful food, decent wines and particularly attentive and good-humoured service made this a very enjoyable holiday. 2007 - Champs Avalin in Val d'Isere provided a great holiday. Staff superb, food great and sensible bar prices.
Snowcoach - for a supersmooth coach trip to the chalet Tirol in Mayrhofen. Mandii's food was the best I've had in over fifty skiing holidays. The ski safari and guiding were both excellent. Their hotels in Valmeinier and St Gervais also provided superb holidays - the former described by my neice and nephew as one of their best ever holidays, in spite of iffy snow conditions. The appartment in their hotel in Val Cenis is superb for a family of 6-8.
Esprit - My 7 year old great nephew didn't want to leave Chalet Hofer in Neustift. The child care and ski lessons were fantastic. Anyone thinking of taking young children skiing should seriously consider an Esprit holiday!
Directski.com - Very smooth trip to Val d'Isere.
